Daniel Howard B-Mus (Hons), PGC(RAM), LGSM, LTCL, LRAM

Daniel studied piano at the London College of Music with Andrew Wilkinson and at the Royal Academy of Music with Antonietta Notariello. He gained his LGSM piano diploma at just 15 and played many piano concertos with orchestras all over the UK as well as numerous piano recitals. He has been teaching for over 25 years and has much experience with beginners right through to diploma level students and has put many pupils through  graded examinations to grade 8 and has been successful at getting some of his students into top music colleges.

Daniel is highly qualified with a B-Mus first class honours degree, a diploma of advanced studies from the Royal Academy of music as well as an LRAM teaching diploma. Daniel became a Liscenciate of the Guildhall School of Music London in 1988 and a Liscenciate of Trinity College London in 1990.

What to expect from a piano lesson.

Daniel teaches all his pupils to read music from the first and to get a good knowledge of the keyboard. Most lessons will begin with scales and/or finger exercises and you will study a wide variety of pieces as well as aural and sight reading skills. He is happy to enter pupils for Trinity graded piano exams should they wish to and be prepared to work hard for them. He is equally happy for those who just want to learn for the shear pleasure of learning an instrument.
Pupils will quickly gain in confidence, learn about posture and relaxation at the keyboard and improve at a natural rate as well as enjoying the process of learning to play the piano.

He has a very thorough knowledge of baroque, classical, romantic and modern repertoire as well as help with performing in public if a pupil wishes to enter music festivals or play in concerts.

Daniel is also the piano teacher at Blackpool 6th form college.
